The Springboks squad is concerned at their problem with their lock position.

Bakkies Botha, Johann Muller and Victor Matfield are all struggling with injuries.

And, the two locks on the official Boks back-up list would not be ready to answer a call from New Zealand if required.

Alistair Hargreaves has been dropped from the Sharks squad to take on Western Province on Saturday due to poor form.

Meanwhile, Gerhard Mostert's good performances during the Tri-Nations took its toll as he has struggled with injury and illness since rejoining his club side Stade Fran├žais.

He has exclusively told Eyewitness News Sport that at the moment he would not be ready to answer a Bok call-up.

"It's been a little bit of a rollercoaster for me on my first week back. I had a groin strain and not infection but more of inflammation of my pubic bone," he said.

He has since spent some time in hospital and been on crutches.

He is hoping to pass a fitness test next week.

"It all depends on what happens in my fitness test, whether I'm ready for the game after that."
