Some rugby fans on Friday said while they were delighted the Springboks beat Samoa 13-5 earlier, it was a little too close for comfort.

The Boks' victory guaranteed them a spot in the quarter finals next weekend.

After their 13 - 0 halftime lead, the South Africans had to dig deep to keep the relentless Samoans at bay.

"I think the Boks didn't use all their opportunities," one fan said.

It's fantastic, we are through," another said.

While another said, "It was too close for comfort."

Nonetheless, they all agreed they were happy that the Boks are a step closer to defending their world title.
