Ajax Cape Town midfielder Granwald Scott on Tuesday said he is slowly getting used to his role as captain.

He has been in charge for the last month after new coach Maarten Stekelenburg handed him the captains arm band from Brett Evans and Hans Vonk.

However, the Urban Warriors have not had the greatest pre-season.

They finished third of four teams at the Mangaung Cup last weekend.

Scott said things have changed for him.

"There's a few things that you have to do different[ly], it's to lead the team now. Sometimes you have to be there when guys are coming late, things like that, small little detail things but I think in the future it will get better and it will become easier," he said.

Scott added that they need to learn from their mistakes fast.

"Pre-season is always there to learn and get your team in shape for the coming season. So I think we had a few games where we've lost out, so I think that's actually good for us as a team so you can see where your mistakes lies and rectify before the season starts."
