New Orlando Pirates striker Benni McCarthy on Tuesday said that he wants to end the next Premier Soccer League (PSL) season as the league's top goal scorer.

McCarthy has joined the Buccaneers on a two-year deal and stated he wants to stay beyond the two years at Pirates.

The move to the Buccaneers ends his 14-year spell in Europe.

In 2010, Knowledge Musona took the Golden Boot Award after scoring 20 goals for Kaizer Chiefs.

McCarthy said he would like to surpass that mark.

"I want to score. From what I've seen, the way the team plays they do provide so much goal scoring opportunity and if you're hungry, if you put yourself at the right place at the right time I think there's more than 20 goals to score," he said.
