Ajax Cape Town have signed a three year deal to use Cape Town Stadium as their home ground, the club announced on Tuesday.

The Urban Warriors have been homeless, travelling between Newlands and Athlone, as well as Wellington for the past two seasons.

Ajax Cape Town CEO George Comitis said he is relieved the team finally has a home venue.

The team's support base grew by about 130 percent after they used the World Cup venue for the majority of last season.

Comitis said, "I think we've done a good deal for us and the city and if we get the

numbers of spectators we got last year, it can work."

Meanwhile, the city said the pressure is finally off them now that the stadium has an anchor tenant.

Councillor Grant Pascoe said the deal will benefit all involved.
