The South African Football Association (Safa) says it will use the upcoming international friendly against Burkina Faso as preparation for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier against Niger in early September.

Pitso Mosimane's side will take on the Burkinabe on 10 August. The venue and the time of the kick-off are still to be announced.

Burkina Faso are positioned 10 places above Bafana in the FIFA rankings.

Safa's Matlomola Morake said they are perfect sparring partners for Bafana.

"We were looking around to find a team that has similar style of play like Niger. Burkina Faso is a very good side, I mean they rank fourth on the continent, so they should be good opposition for us, a good test ahead of the Niger match," he said.
