The Hanover Park Community Policing Forum on Friday said the peace treaty between community members and several gangs is being maintained.
The ceasefire was reached three months ago, where gangs in the Cape Town suburb promised to bury the hatchet.
However, the CPF said while killings have stopped, theft and vandalism seem to be on the rise.
Vice chairperson Ebrahim Abrahams said they are grateful lives are being spared, but said the area needed specialised solutions.
“We want programmes for Hanover Park. We don’t want programmes that they integrate us with someone else in other areas because the areas differ,” he said.
