Police divers continued searching the Vaal Dam on Monday for the body of a teenager presumed to have drowned in a canoe accident on Sunday.

Eighteen-year-old Setjhaea Nedzema went missing while fishing on the dam.

Authorities searched the water into the night with no luck and their search resumed on Monday morning.

Police sniffer dogs have also been employed to try to pick up his scent.

The NSRI’s Craig Lambinon said it is unlikely the teen will be found alive.

“At this stage, he is presumed to have drowned. The police divers are searching in near zero-visibility water for the body of the man,” he said.
