Panjo the tiger spent his first day at home playing with his owners, posing for photographs and munching his way through over 15 kilogrammes of meat.

He escaped from his owner’s bakkie on Monday night and was found wandering in the woods outside Bronkhorstspruit 48 hours later.

On Thursday, Eyewitness News visited the large cat at his home near Groblersdal.

After a long day of photo shoots and feeds, Panjo the tiger was a little grumpy. But that did not stop him from rolling on the grass, playing under the sprinkler and suckling on his milk bottle.

Owner Goosey Fernandes said it was wonderful spending time with Panjo.

“Awesome day to see Panjo back in my house and loving,” said Fernandes.

Fernandes insisted the tiger’s disappearance was no publicity stunt and Panjo is back in good hands.
