Four pupils died when the two crashed into them during an apparent drag racing incident nearly two weeks ago.

There were scenes of anger and chaos outside the Protea Magistrate’s Court.

Unable to deal with the news, one woman fainted on the tarmac outside the building and paramedics were called in to assist her.

School pupils, who have been demonstrating outside the court throughout the bail application, bayed for Jub Jub’s blood.

They then stoned police officers and officials used a water cannon in an attempt to disperse them but this did not help.

The magistrate said while he considered the fact residents were angry about the accident, there were not enough exceptional reasons to deny bail.
