The Food and Allied Workers Union is demanding a 9.5 percent increase while the company is offering 8.3.

The strike has been marked by violence and intimidation against non-striking workers with ABI calling for calm.

ABI’s Robyn Chalmers said at least 60 percent of the work force had returned to work despite no deal having been reached .

“We do have a strong contingency plan and operations have not been affected by the strike,” said Chalmers.
