A case of attempted murder and defeating the ends of justice against controversial IT expert and murder-accused Muziwendoda Kunene was postponed in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.

<place w:st="on"><?xml:namespace prefix="u1"?><place u2:st="on">Kunene was meant to go on trial on these charges on Thursday but he was not brought to court because his murder trail is continuing in the Bloemfontein High Court.

An arrest warrant was issued for <place u2:st="on"><place w:st="on">Kunene when he did not appear in the dock on Thursday. <?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>

This warrant will be kept at the court until his next appearance because he was already in custody on a murder charge.

Neither Kunene, nor his son Msebenzi Kunene, could appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Thursday as they were both involved in a murder trial in <city w:st="on"><place w:st="on"><city u2:st="on"><place u2:st="on">Bloemfontein.

In that case, it is claimed <place w:st="on"><place u2:st="on">Kunene and two other men murdered Balito estate agent Lynne Hume.

Kunene Jnr is the state’s main witness in both cases.

It is alleged his father tried to kill him to prevent him from testifying in the murder trial.

The attempted murder case was postponed to later this year.
