The <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?><state w:st="on"><place w:st="on">Gauteng branch of the Democratic Alliance has announced that it learnt Carl Niehaus forged the minutes of a meeting where business was apparently promised to a certain company when he committed fraud at the Gauteng Economic Development Agency.<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>

It was reported that he forged signatures on a letter.

Gauteng DA leader Jack Bloom claimed the province’s Premier Paul Mashatile did not follow the proper procedures when appointing Niehaus to GEDA.

He said the fact it was minutes that were forged was significant.

“This is why it had the signatures of four MECs, including Mashatile, Ignatius Jacobs, Angie Motshekga and Khabisi Mosunkutu and I find it hard to believe that any of you did not hear about these forged signatures. I am sure you did.”
