The City of Cape Town says according to the National Taxi Association there will not be a taxi strike on Tuesday.

The mayor’s office issued a statement on Monday, in response to rumours of an impending strike by taxi operators.

Hundreds of thousands of commuters were left stranded during last week’s three-day taxi strike across the Peninsula.

The mayor’s office says Helen Zille spoke to the NTA’s chairperson who assured her there will not be any trouble this week.
