A Grabouw based transport company says it suspects arsonists torched 2 of its busses.

A security guard alerted Gaffleys transport services manager about a fire at its bus depot in the early hours of Monday morning.

The Grabouw-based transport company’s Gynnis Walburugh said she suspected arsonists set its bus depot alight at around 3am on Monday morning.

Walburugh said she did not want to speculate if the incident was related to last week’s taxi violence.<?xml:namespace prefix="o"?>

More than 60 Golden Arrow busses were damaged during last week’s spate of taxi violence across the Peninsula.

Walburugh said they provide transport to factory workers in the Overberg area

The bus company says three other busses were damaged in the fire as well.

Grabouw police officials are investigating the incident.
