The brother of a South African woman who went missing in Dubai last year says the investigation into her disappearance is at a standstill.

Kurt Winter has accused authorities abroad and locally of ignoring the family and doing nothing to assist him and his relatives with the search for his sister Kerry.

The 35-year-old went missing in Dubai nearly six months ago after being abducted, allegedly by her ex-boyfriend.

It is understood the suspect, who is behind bars for attacking his neighbour on the day of the woman’s disappearance, told Dubai police she was dead.

Winter said they wrote several letters to the presidency asking for help.

“We have actually furnished them with four different letters only one of which they said they then referred it to the Department of Justice,” said Winter.

The presidency was unavailable for comment.
