A war of words has erupted after Sunday’s ODI between <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?><country-region w:st="on">Australia</country-region> and <country-region w:st="on">New Zealand</country-region> in <place w:st="on"><city w:st="on">Perth.

During the match, Kiwi batsman Neil Broom appeared to have been bowled by Australian vice captain Michael Clarke but replays revealed that Brad Hadden dislodged the bails with his gloves, with the ball seeming destined to miss the woodwork.

New Zealand went on to win the match by two wickets but Kiwi skipper Daniel Vettori said he was disappointed in Hadden for not owning up to his trickery.

Haddin hit back by calling Vettori’s response "poor" and "low" while maintaining that the ball hit the stumps before his gloves.
