Cause of train accident still unknown

Investigations into the train accident that occurred in near Era Station in Springs have continued on Monday evening.

Paramedics confirmed that an estimated 100 commuters were injured during the crash.

Although the official report has not been completed it has been presumed that human error could be the cause of the crash.

Forensic experts and emergency officials were combing the scene of the accident and have brought in a large generator with spot lights to help them find there way in the dark. <?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>

One local resident told Eyewitness News that he heard a loud bang when three of the train’s carriages were destroyed.

Meanwhile, onlookers who gathered could not believe what they saw many of them saying that they would think twice about taking a train in the future.
