Talks resumed on Wednesday after employers and union members began wage negotiations last month.
Its 2006 strike action lasted three months and was marred by violence.
Satawu’s General Secretary Randall Howard said they did not want a repeat of the violence but claimed that authorities were partly to blame.
“We have come out very difficult 2006 protracted strike. Lots of lives lost and lots of high handed action by the police undermining of workers rights,” Howard commented.
