Afriforum Youth has appealed to the National Public Prosecutor to investigate irregularities in the 2008 matric results.

The organisation received complaints from many of last year’s matric learners who claimed they suspected their results were incorrect because their final marks was far lower than their average marks throughout the year.

The group said others were still waiting to receive a complete set of their final marks.

Afriforum Youth spokesman Ernst Roets has said, “We received tremendous complaints from these matriculants. One student who’s mark, which he sent up with around 80%, but [sic] when he received his final mark it was 50% less then his year mark. This means that according to the department he must have received 0% in the final exams. The problem is that we don’t know exactly where the problem lies and whose responsible for this.”<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>
