Mantashe emphasized that the ANC would pull out all the stops.

He outlined the party’s pre-poll preparations in the province at a media conference on Thursday.

He said the election was a serious effort that required hard work.

He joked that the organisation wanted to secure a three third and not a two third majority.

Election teams were set up to lead the ruling party’s campaign in all nine provinces.

The Western Cape team would be headed by ANC veteran Koos van Nirsen, former Youth League president Fikile Mbalula as well as Labour Minister Membathisi Mdladlana.

Mantashe also clarified that Mcebisi Skwatsha would remain in his current position.
