On Monday, the <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?><city w:st="on"><place w:st="on">Bloemfontein Supreme Court of Appeal overturned the controversial Judge Chris Nicholson’s controversial judgment which led to Thabo Mbeki being recalled from the presidency.

The ruling also meant fraud and corruption charges against African National Congress President Jacob Zuma would be re-instated.

The ANC’s Carl Niehaus said the ruling party was not departing from its election plans.

“We will proceed simply with our election campaign and you’ve seen over the weekend the strength of that election campaign as demonstrated in East London and there is no reason for anyone to speculate on whether Mr Zuma is continuing as the presidential candidate,” said Niehaus.
