Proteas skipper Graeme Smith said he did not regret playing with an injured hand in the third and final test against <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?><country-region w:st="on">Australia</country-region> in <place w:st="on"><city w:st="on">Sydney.

Speaking on the John Robbie Show, Smith acknowledged that he was fortunate not to aggravate the injury but felt that the risk was worth it.

The Proteas switched to one-day mode, kicking off the second leg of their tour down under with a 52-run loss in Sunday’s Pro20 match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

The first of five one-dayers took the Proteas back to <city w:st="on">Melbourne after their second 20Twenty match in <city w:st="on"><place w:st="on">Brisbane on Tuesday.

The match gets underway at 10:35 on Tuesday.
