Both Kevin Pietersen and Peter Moores left their jobs following a break down of their relationship.

Andrew Strauss took over the captaincy, while a new coach was yet to be determined.

The <country-region w:st="on">England</country-region> and <country-region w:st="on"><place w:st="on">Wales</country-region> Cricket Board Managing Director Hugh Morris said Pietersen would continue to play for them.
