The Education Department has promised that it was monitoring the release of late matric results.

Provincial education officials held a meeting earlier this week to discuss the difficulties faced with confirming some of the marks.

Just over 10 000 matriculants countrywide did not received their 2008 matric results because their teachers failed to hand in their year marks on time.

The results of the examinations were now being released on an individual basis.

The department’s Nanagolo Leopeng said they were making some headway.<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>

“We have requested parents and learners to be patient with us. We know that it is a bit of an inconvenience but we want to assure them that we are trying very hard to make sure that all the learners receive their results.”
