Chief Rabbi of South Africa Warren Goldstein has told Eyewitness News that he was proud to be leading the funeral service of late activist Helen Suzman.
Suzman died at around 9:30am on Thursday.
Goldstein said Suzman left a great legacy to serve as an example for South Africans to aspire to.
Suzman will be laid to rest on Sunday in a private service and a public memorial would be held in February.
Rabbi Goldstein said it was important to give her a dignified farewell.
“Obviously her funeral is something which is important that it be done properly and with proper dignity and respect and be in an appropriate tribute to a truly great person."
