The man who blew the whistle on a massive bread price-fixing cartel in has been arrested.
Imraan Mukahddam was taken into custody shortly after midnight on Wednesday. It was unclear why Mukaddam was arrested but Eyewitness News understands he had been charged with riotous behaviour.
Two years ago Mukaddam, an independent bread distributor, exposed a price collusion cartel operating in the country.
The police's Randall Stoffels said, "We can confirm that a 42-year-old man was arrested for riotous behaviour. He was arrested and taken to Cape Town Central Police Station and he was later released on warning to appear in court."
