JOHANNEBSURG - Overnight rescue operations continue in George, Southern Cape, after a building collapse trapped 75 construction employees in mounds of rubble and tangled iron rods.

Just over 20 people have been rescued from the rubble, and at least five others are confirmed dead.

The death toll is expected rise while rescue workers and paramedics attend to the scene.

The cause of the disaster is yet to be established.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has since offered his condolences to the families and friends of the deceased.
