CAPE TOWN - Parents who are looking to enroll their children for Grade 1 and 8 at a Western Cape school can do so from Monday 11 March.
The online admissions window opened just after midnight and will close on 12 April.
The Western Cape Education Department says it has already received close to 8,000 applications since the window opened.
Provincial Education MEC David Maynier said parents who wished to apply for grade R or a transfer between schools in Grade 2 and 7 and grades 9 to 12 will be able to do so between August 1 and 16.
"We would like as many parents and guardians as possible to apply on time so that we can use this data to plan ahead and further improve the placement process in the Western Cape. Visit the WCED website for details on how to apply."
Maynier adds that parents who are unable to apply online can do so in person at one of their pop-up sites across the province.
"We have arranged over 120 sites at shopping malls, schools and other facilities in all education districts. Officials will be on hand to assist you with completing your application. So bring all the required documentation along with you in order to apply."
