JOHANNESBURG – Fochville community members were left reeling following a fatal shooting at a local tavern on Sunday evening.

Four people were killed and five others injured when a group of armed men entered the shack and opened fire.

According to police, no arrests have been made.

Residents in Mpahla Village said the shooting was as a result of ongoing gang wars in the area.

One eyewitness said suspects wearing black blankets blocked the entrance to the establishment and started assaulting people.

Locals had gathered to watch soccer.

The witness said the gunmen were looking for a rival gang member following another attack earlier on Sunday.

The shebeen owner was injured in Sunday’s shooting.

Community members said local government officials visited the scene earlier on Monday to assess the situation.
