LONDON - It’s the beginning of the end for the London Olympics, but Team South Africa still has a chance to bag a few medals.

Team SA has won five medals thus far and hopes that more medals will be added to the tally Friday night and Saturday.

Following their controversial entrance into Friday night’s final, the men’s 4x400m relay team will hope for less drama when they take to the track at 22:20 SA time.

The drama unfolded during their semifinal race on Thursday night when Ofentse Mogawane fell and injured his shoulder halfway through the second leg resulting in the team not finishing.

But Sascoc appealed the decision after video footage showed that Mogawane was tripped by a Kenyan athlete.

Fans will also get to watch Oscar Pistorius compete for last time at the London Olympic Games before returning for the Paralympic Games in less than a month.

On Saturday, Marc Mundell  will be competing in the men's 50km walking race at 10am followed by  Candice Neethling in the women's cross country mountain finals at 13:30.

But the most talked about is Caster Semenya, who will be looking to win her first medal in the women’s 800m finals after dominating in her semifinal race.
Semenya is a medal favourite in her event which starts at 21:00 on Saturday night.

And finally on Sunday Lusapho April, Stephen Mokoka and Coolboy Piet Ngamole will look to win medals in the men's marathon at 12pm while Phillip Buys and Burry Stander compete in the men's cross country mountain bike finals at 14:30.
