Breakthrough in religious attack
Police have identified a suspect in a suspected religious attack.
Mohammed Fayaz Kazi and a friend were attacked at a Chicken Licken outlet on Monday. An argument broke out and that led to a fight.
JOHANNESBURG - Police said they have now identified one of the suspects who allegedly beat a Muslim man to death following a fight triggered by racist and anti-Islamic comments in Magaliesburg.
Kazi and his friend overheard two men talking about the length of his beard.
The police's Neville Malila said they are now searching for a 33-year-old man from Rustenburg.
“Investigators are currently working around the clock locating the suspect that they have identified. Police have been to his house but he was not there.”
Several people including North West Premier Thandi Modise have condemned the incident. Modise called the incident racist.
