JOHANNESBURG - Three of the eight people arrested in connection with a R100 million drug bust were released by a court on Friday.
The remaining five suspects will apply for bail on Monday when their case resumes.
On Wednesday, Crime Intelligence officers raided two luxury homes in Bryanston and Douglasdale, north of Johannesburg.
They seized mandrax, chemicals and equipment allegedly used to manufacture drugs.
Two brothers, their wives, three domestic workers and a gardener were arrested.
The eight accused made their first appearance at the Randburg Magistrate's Court on Friday.
Police spokesperson Vish Naidoo said two domestic workers and the gardener were released.
He said it could not be proved that the three suspects were involved in the manufacturing or distribution of drugs.
