Police have issued a serious warning against vigilantism after a man was set alight in Khayelitsha.
CAPE TOWN - Police on Monday have issued a stern warning to community members who take the law into their own hands that they will be hunted down and arrested.
A 19-year-old suspected criminal was assaulted and set alight in Khayelitsha this weekend.
His body was found on an open field on Saturday.
The police's Frederick van Wyk said the suspect was out on bail for a previous robbery and theft charge.
He added that they were doing their utmost to keep such crimes to a minimum and are also engaging with necessary stakeholders.
