Letting rip: Quincy Jones drops bombs on Michael Jackson, JFK and Brando
Quincy Jones revealed that Michael Jackson stole songs, pop music is not good and he dated Ivanka Trump.
JOHANNESBURG – You know Quincy Jones, right? I mean how can you not? He’s a record producer, actor, conductor, arranger, composer, musician, television producer, film producer, instrumentalist… the list goes on.
Jones has worked with music industry heavyweights such as Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra and many more.
And in a recent interview with Vulture magazine, Jones spoke his mind on a whole bunch of topics, from the King of Pop, through to who he reckons killed JFK.
As far as Jones is concerned, Jackson is a music thief.
“I hate to get into this publicly, but Michael stole a lot of stuff. He stole a lot of songs. [Donna Summer’s] State of Independence and Billie Jean. The notes don’t lie, man. He was as Machiavellian as they come.”
Jones added that the pop icon had a problem with his looks because his father told him he was ugly and abused him and that is why he had a lot of plastic surgery.
The producer also revealed the person who killed JF Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States:
“[Chicago mobster Sam] Giancana. Joe Kennedy - he was a bad man - he came to Frank to have him talk to Giancana about getting votes.”
Asked what his first impression of The Beatles was, Jones said they were “worst musicians in the world”.
“They were no-playing motherf***ers. Paul was the worst bass player I ever heard. And Ringo? Don’t even talk about it.”
Jones also revealed that he used to date Ivanka Trump. Yes Donald Trump’s ex-wife. Moving right along…
He noted that modern pop is bad because it’s just loops, beats, rhymes and hooks, but did praise some good modern musicians:
“Bruno Mars. Chance the Rapper. Kendrick Lamar. I like where Kendrick’s mind is. He’s grounded. Chance, too.”
Jones went as far as saying that Marlon Brando had sexual intercourse with Marvin Gaye and Richard Pryor.
"He [Marlon Brando] was the most charming motherf$$ker you ever met. He’d f$$k anything. Anything! He’d f$$k a mailbox. James Baldwin. Richard Pryor. Marvin Gaye. Come on, man. He did not give a f$$k!”
