De Lille to consider legal action if DA removes her as CT mayor
Patricia de Lille says that she’s busy compiling submissions to the DA’s federal executive regarding the allegations leveled against her.
De Lille says officials have provided her with reasons for her suspension from party activities.
But she says that she believes it does not warrant her suspension nor her removal.
In a statement, De Lille says she has delivered extremely well on her mandate and led a team that elevated the administration to its current position of being the best run in the country.
She says that Cape Town’s residents supported this by giving them a two-thirds majority in the 2016 local government elections.
De Lille adds that the investigation process that was followed has been blatantly unfair.
She says that she is busy compiling submissions to the DA’s federal executive regarding the allegations leveled against her.
Officials say she’s requested an extension of the deadline to respond and is now expected to do so by Tuesday.
