JOHANNESBURG - President Jacob Zuma has spoken for the first time about UK PR firm Bell Pottinger, saying it’s not true that radical economic transformation was developed by the disgraced firm.

The president addressed the energy indaba which got underway in Midrand on Thursday morning.

He says radical economic transformation is an ANC policy.

“We therefore reject the incorrect and patronising assumptions by some sections of society that radical economic transformation policy was developed by a company from London.”

Bell Pottinger, once one of the world’s leading public relations agencies, fell from grace after it was exposed for engineering a racially charged campaign in South Africa.

They were hired by the Gupta family.
