Home Affairs announces festive season plans

The department says these include police patrols, inspection of vehicles and swift response to crime.

JOHANNESBURG - The Home Affairs Department has announced its festive season plans for South Africa's ports of entry.

The department says it will be working with law enforcement agencies on several integrated operations.

It says these include police patrols, inspection of vehicles and swift response to crime.

Home Affairs says it's also extended it's working hours and has brought in additional staff at some ports of entry for the festive season.

The department's Stephen van Neel said: “We have operations that people may not be aware of that will we ensure we don’t get our staff in situations where fraudulent documents and movements are facilitated.”
