ANC KZN backs Dlamini Zuma for ANC presidency
The ANC in KwaZulu-Natal has chosen Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma as the preferred candidate.
DURBAN - The African National Congress in KwaZulu-Natal has named Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma as their preferred party president.
Dlamini Zuma received 433 votes while Cyril Ramaphosa received 193 votes.
Bontle Mpakanyane from the elections agency made the announcement on Monday evening.
“Comrade Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma sitting at 433 branch nominations, the second is that of comrade Cyril Ramaphosa at 193 branch nominations and then followed by comrade Zweli Mkhize at six nominations from branches and the total of 56 that have abstained.”
David Mabuza has been nominated as a preferred candidate for deputy president.
Nomination for national chair is Nathi Mthethwa.
Jesse Duarte has been nominated as deputy secretary general. And Nomvula Mokonyane has bagged the nomination for treasurer general.
