No arrests yet in Elsies River shooting
A three-year-old girl was struck by a stray bullet in the mouth during rival gang shootings in Leonsdale on Thursday.
CAPE TOWN - No arrests have yet been made in connection with a gang related shooting in Elsies River where a three-year-old child was wounded.
The little girl was struck by a stray bullet in the mouth during rival gang shootings in Leonsdale on Thursday.
A gang member who was also shot died on the way to hospital.
The girl is currently in a critical condition at Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital and is expected to undergo surgery.
Community safety MEC Dan Plato said, “I pray to God that she pull through. She is just a little girl and I hope the police will make arrests soon. Elsies River and Leonsdale are a warzone.”
