Lucky Montana counters Minister Martins' claims about Gupta meeting
Former Prasa CEO Montana took to Twitter to challenge deputy Minister Ben Martin's recollection of another meeting with one of the infamous Gupta brothers.
On Wednesday, Eskom's suspended head of legal Suzanne Daniels testified under oath in a parliamentary inquiry that Martins attended a meeting with businessman Ajay Gupta earlier this year, where the parastatal's former CEO Brian Molefe's court case was discussed.
A day later, Montana took to Twitter to challenge Martin's recollection of another meeting with one of the infamous Gupta brothers.

Rajesh Gupta & Duduzane Zuma joined our meeting later, clearly at the invitation of my Leader, Comrade and Friend, Ben Martins.— Lucky Montana (@MontanaLucky) November 9, 2017
Martins told journalists on Thursday about a meeting he arranged with Montana and Tony Gupta while he was Transport Minister.
At the time, he says that Montana was concerned that the Guptas were trying to have him and Prasa board chairperson Sfiso Buthelezi replaced.
“In order to resolve this matter, I invited both parties to my house in Pretoria.”
But that’s not how Montana remembers it.
He claims that when he went to the minister's home, Gupta and Duduzane Zuma arrived. They proceeded to tell him of their interest in the rail agency’s project to procure new trains.
Montana alleges that he resisted the Gupta family's attempt to “manipulate” the R53 billion tender back in 2012.
He claims he only then wrote to the minister complaining about the family's attempt to get rid of him and the chairperson of the Prasa board.
