JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng police are investigating a murder case after the SABC’s head of legal services Sizwe Vilakazi was shot dead.

Vilakazi was gunned down at his business premises in Tsakani on the East Rand on Saturday night.

Authorities say three armed men entered the store and opened fire on Vilakazi who was at the counter, before fleeing in a blue VW Polo.

They say the motive behind the shooting is not known yet know, however they are investigating.

The police’s Lerato Mngomezulu says the suspects didn’t steal anything from the store and no one was wounded during the incident.

“It is alleged that three males came into the building and they started shooting and after shooting they just fled the scene. And the motive of the shooting is unknown at this present moment as the investigation is still going on.”
