Tshabalala recalled to Bafana Bafana for crunch Senegal clashes
South Africa lie bottom of Group D with four points and must beat Senegal in both games if they wish to book their ticket to Russia next year.
JOHANNESBURG - Stuart Baxter has named a premilimary 26-man team for the double-header of World Cup qualifiers against Senegal next month.
South Africa lie bottom of Group D with four points and must beat Senegal in both games if they wish to book their ticket to Russia next year.
Stuart Baxter has surprisingly recalled Kaizer Chiefs ace Siphiwe Tshabalala after a national team absence of almost four years. The 2010 World Cup star has been in fine form for Amakhosi, contributing to some of their recent positive results.
The coach has also included Andile Jali and Bongani Zungu, despite them being suspended for the first encounter. Zungu is still set to face a disciplinary hearing for violent conduct and could miss the second game too, but Jali will be available.
The notable exclusion is that of Tokelo Rantie, who, according to Baxter, has distanced himself from the team following the disappointment of being left out of the Burkina Faso game.
