Harvey Weinstein ‘was infatuated’ with Kelly Brook
The disgraced movie producer gave Kelly her big break in Hollywood by casting her in ‘Piranha 3D’ and insiders say he was obsessed with her but she was repulsed by him.
LONDON - Harvey Weinstein was reportedly “infatuated” with Kelly Brook when he cast her in Piranha 3D.
The disgraced movie producer - who has been accused of sexually harassing a number of women over three decades - gave Brook, 37, her big break in Hollywood by casting her in Piranha 3D and insiders say he was obsessed with her but she was repulsed by him.
A source told The Sun: “Weinstein was infatuated with Brook.
“He thought she oozed sex appeal and was keen to give her more work. But Brook never had any interest. His demeanour simply repulsed her.
“Brook believes she got her part due to her work attitude and talent, nothing else.”
Meanwhile, earlier this month, Brook slammed Hollywood A-Listers for not speaking out about Weinstein sooner.
She wrote on Twitter: “Was a Film Career and an Oscar really worth protecting this Beast? Shameful “A listers” for keeping quiet. You put others at risk #Enabler (sic).”
Since a string of sexual assault and harassment allegations were made against Weinstein, he has been fired from The Weinstein Company and his wife of 10 years, Georgina Chapman, decided to leave him. He is now seeking treatment in a rehab facility in the US.
And Matt Damon recently revealed he knew Weinstein had sexually harassed Gwyneth Paltrow.
Weinstein helped propel Matt and his good friend Ben Affleck to fame by producing their movie Good Will Hunting through his former company Miramax and Damon has admitted he was aware of some of Weinstein’s transgressions but insists he had no idea about the sexual assault allegations.
Suburbicon star Damon, 47, told Good Morning America: “I knew the story about Gwyneth [Paltrow] [being sexually harassed by him] from Affleck because he was with her after Brad [Pitt]. I never talked to Gwyneth about it. Ben told me. I knew that they had come to whatever agreement or understanding, she was the first lady of Miramax. He treated her incredibly respectfully. Always.”
Paltrow, 45, recently came forward to reveal the disgraced producer had made unwanted advances towards her when she was 22 and filming Emma, but she went on to make a number of other movies with him afterwards, including her Oscar-winning Shakespeare in Love.
Weinstein, 65, allegedly placed his hands on the blonde beauty’s shoulders and suggested they head to the bedroom for massages.
She said: “I was a kid, I was signed up, I was petrified.”
The star claims she refused his alleged advances and told her then-boyfriend Brad Pitt, who confronted the producer, and Weinstein later asked Paltrow not to tell anyone what had happened.
She added: “I thought he was going to fire me.”
