JOHANNESBURG – Power utility Eskom says it has appointed a new evidence leader for Matshela Koko's disciplinary hearing.

Cassim Moosa has been appointed and will take over from lawyer Sebetja Matsaung who was fired at the weekend after he made threats against Financial Mail's deputy editor Sikonathi Mantshantsha who was covering the hearing.

Koko, the utility's former acting CEO, was suspended earlier this year and is facing various charges - including conflict of interest after allegedly awarding a multi-million rand tender to a company his stepdaughter was involved in.
