Doctor accused of raping patient granted bail

It’s understood the alleged rape took place at the doctor’s practice in Nkoankoa last week when the girl went to him for a consultation.

JOHANNESBURG - A doctor accused of raping his 17-year-old patient has been granted bail after appearing in court on Wednesday.

It’s understood the alleged rape took place at the doctor’s practice in Nkoankoa last week when the girl went to him for a consultation.

The man’s case has been postponed until next year pending further police investigations.

The police’s Moatshe Ngoepe said: “His case was remanded until 5 February 2018 for further investigations. He was released on R5,000 bail.”
