JOHANNESBURG – The African National Congress (ANC) says it hopes the party’s veteran’s league conference starting on Friday will take resolutions that strengthen the organization as it heads towards its elective conference.

The league, which is open to all ANC members who are 60 and older and have served the ANC over an unbroken period of 40 years, will hold its second national gathering over the next three days.

The ANC’s Zizi Kodwa says that this conference is important for the life of the ANC.

“It’s important so that it renews its mandate. It’s important in terms of restoration of the values the African National Congress.”

He says he hopes that the resolutions that will be taken at the conference will inspire and take the ANC forward, adding that a delegation from the ANC NEC will be deployed at the conference to ensure everything runs smoothly.
