CAPE TOWN – A Nelson Mandela University (NMU) student has been raped on campus and another woman stabbed.

The pair were attacked at the university’s computer labs on Monday night.

The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality has condemned the violence.

Spokesperson Kristhoff Adelbert said: “The municipality condemns the rape and stabbing of two women last night at the NMU campus.

“It happened at about 8:30 last night, and it’s really time now for the Minister of Police to start taking crime seriously in this country.”
