JOHANNESBURG - A 19-year-old boy accused of assaulting a female pupil at Siyathuthuka Secondary School in Inanda, KwaZulu-Natal is expected to appear in court on Monday (14 August).

The teenager was arrested on Saturday afternoon after he was handed over to the police by his father.

A video of the boy assaulting the girl emerged last week.

The KwaZulu-Natal Education Department’s Kwazi Mthethwa says, “We welcome the move and we hope that justice will be served.

“And we hope that the victim will finally have some comfort. But, we’re saying that we’re very disappointed and that’s why we’d like to see justice being served.”
