CAPE TOWN - Former African National Congress (ANC) ward councillor Nico Mzalisi is desperately trying to come to terms with the loss of his daughter who was murdered last week.

Twenty-year-old Khanyisile Sawutana was stabbed to death in New Crossroads, an informal settlement in Nyanga.

Her body was found near the home of her grandparents where she had been staying.

The motive for the attack is unknown and police have not made any arrests.

Mzalisi says his family is in shock but he is trying to be strong for all of them.

“I’m coping. It’s not easy but I’m coping. I have to be stronger for my family.”
